Leap of Mama is my dream. Scribbled in my notebooks of goals for the future were always a few years where I was a writer and stay-at-home mom. What I didn’t expect was how scary it would feel to let go of my job as an elementary school teacher to go after this dream.
Overcoming fear has been a major theme in my life and this newest adventure is no exception. Marianne Williamson wrote, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us… as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same.”
That is why I started this blog. It was time to be brave and let myself live the life I envisioned, even if it meant letting go of a job I cared about and believing we would be able to make everything work at home. The good news? Paths have emerged I never anticipated. Taking the leap was one of the best things I’ve ever done.
While I may not always keep this blog current, I love maintaining it as an archive of memories for my girls, as well as a personal writing sample. For more information on my freelance writing, please visit: www.oliviaobryon.com
